FOCUS, Friends of Children Under Stress
The word Focus has a significant meaning, the acronym for it is: “Friends Of Children Under Stress”. We have not done as much work in the States as we have in Haiti. We go to Haiti sometimes twice a year. We have been doing mobile clinics for the past 5 years, provides meds and physicals free of charge. We do back to schools book bags and supplies distribution. We go to all parts of Haiti where the needs are greatest, wherever the Lord sends us. We also do all kinds of ministry, including Bibles distribution.
Now the plan for FOCUS is to establish in the outskirt hills of Lascahobas, (Plateau Central) Haiti an orphanage for about 150 children, a trade (vocational) school, a clinic, a church, a youth center with tutoring, mentors, library, recreational activities, evangelization, etc. Also a canteen where the kids in the neighborhood will get breakfast before school and a hot lunch after school. At least Mon-Fri.
Who We Are
We are a group of very dedicated people concerned about the future of our young generation and want to make a positive difference in their lives.
What We Do
We are a multidisciplinary group so we’re able to serve many needs and reach the people.

We do mobile clinics in remote towns where there is no medical help. We educate the people on health maintenance and self goals, hygiene, nutrition and provide medications as necessary.

We do counseling. Some of us are licensed as Clinical Christian Counselor.

We do bible distribution.

We do back to school book bags and supplies distribution every year.

We also do toys drive for needy children at Christmas time.

We do different types of ministry outreach, depending on where we are and the needs at the time.
Youth Anger Management
We are in the process of starting a new project on Youth Anger Management . This program is geared toward the reduction & prevention of crimes, youth delinquency, gangs, school drop out, child abuse, domestic violence and youth suicide. It’s a 13 week program which will be free of charge to those kids. This project will start in the fall of 2011 in Miami- Dade and Broward Counties in Fl. Stay tuned for location and starting date. More information will be availabe as we get closer to the starting date.
Sponsorship Opportunities
One way of supporting our projects is by way of sponsorship. As people sponsor those children, we’ll be able to do more. I know there are different kinds of grants we may be eligible for also, we’re working on that now. The other means of support is through agriculture. We will be planting and exporting coffee and cacao (chocolate) and cultivate our own fruits and veggies for our everyday use.
We want every kid to be vaccinated, every adult, young adult to be tested for HIV and those that are positive to receive treatment. These programs are already up and running, we will just be networking with them. As nurses, missionaries, ministers of the gospel, and counselors, we have our work cut out for us. Right now the most urgent need is a lot of prayer. No ministry can stand long without prayer.

How to Help
We are here to serve the less fortunate. Anyone who needs our help will be served to the best of our ability, whether in the States or in Haiti. Our ministry is mostly geared toward the youth, but not limited to such. Young adults and victims of domestic violence also hit our priority list.
